November Update

I'm still here. Every time I claim that technical issues have passed, something seems to happen. I have decided to accept that fact that the DSL line that connects the station computer to Live365 will never be as reliable as I expect. If you find the station inaccessible, please try back later. In most cases the connection fixes itself in less than 5 minutes. I am exploringoptions for the new year that would improve reliability, but nothing is finalized yet.

New Music. I've added over 100 new tracks in the last week. New shows include The Nervous Set, Closer Than Ever, The Wild Party (Lippa), New Faces of 1952, and Broadway USA! plus additional recordings of Show Boat and Carousel. I also added tracks from new solo albums from Josh Young, Jeff Harnar, and Bernadette Peters. Finally, I am very pleased to have added tracks from Sondheim Sings Volume II. This followup to the wonderful Sondheim Sings features the composer himself performing his compositions during the early part of his career. Truly amazing to hear.

Album of the Month. The movie version of Rent comes out later this month, but we all know that everything's better live. Thus, I selected the OBC recording of Rent as the Album of the Month. Like Oklahoma and A Chorus Line, Rent is a turning point. If you don't already own this recording, you are really missing out.

Only 55 shopping days left. Don't forget your fellow musical theatre lovers when you plan your holiday shopping. Cast recordings make great gifts. You can browse the Library/Requests section of the station web site for ideas. You can also get great Show Tunes 24/7 merchandise from the Maximum Broadway Radio Store.

As always thanks for listening and making Maximum Broadway Radio Live365's #1 station for show tunes.

October Update

What's New. Well, the most important thing that's new is that the station is actually staying on the air. The reliability on my end has greatly improved, and Live365 has been solid as a rock. Keep your fingers crossed that things stay this way. New recordings recently added include The Grand Tour, New Faces of 1952, the concept recording of Jekyll and Hyde, and the revivalcast recording of Sweet Charity.

Album of the Month. Having now lived through a hurricane, I have a new found appreciation for the experience. Thus, I selected Once on This Island as the Album of the Month. This beautiful score from Flaherty and Ahrens tells the story of people weathering a storm.

Help Pay the Bills. I am happy to pay the costs of keeping the station on the air because I love the music and want to share it. Any support you can give as a listener just makes it easier to expand the station library and reach more listeners. You can support the station by getting a Live365 VIP Membership, sending a Live365 gift certificate to the station email address, or using the Amazon links on the station web site before making purchases at Amazon. In case you're wondering, the station gets a small commission on anything you buy at Amazon after following one of the links, so visit the stationweb site before all your Amazon purchases, not just cast albums.

Go See a Show. Listening to the the station is great, but there's no substitute for seeing musicals live. Many local and regional theatres are starting their seasons this month. You can check the See a Show section on the station web site to find a theatre in your area. If your favorite isn't listed, send me an email, and I'll get them added.

As always thanks for listening and making Maximum Broadway Radio Live365's #1 station for show tunes.
