I Think We're Back

I switched the station back into its normal live mode last night, and after some minor adjustments this morning, it seems to be running smoothly. I'll monitor it closely today, and, hopefully, I'll be able to leave it alone. I also upgraded the battery backup while everything was disconnected which should help avoid future outages.

As I've said before, it really makes me feel good to see all of you keep coming back despite the instability of the last couple of months. Keep your fingers crossed that smooth seas are ahead.

Thanks for listening,

Zack

Rita Ramifications

It's been quite a long weekend. I tried to evacuate only to spend 12 hours driving/sitting to get 90 miles. I decided to turn around and go back home. The storm had since turned east, so my house was spared the hurricane experience. A few neighbors lost power, but it was restored within a few hours.

I just finished setting the station computer back up. The dial-up stream is up and running normally. I'm going to let it run for a day or so to make sure my DSL line is working properly. I'll leave the broadband stream in basic mode for now. This means only the dial-up stream will respond to online requests.

Hopefully, I'll get the 2 streams back to being identical by Tuesday.

Thanks for listening,

Zack

Headed for Higher Ground

With Rita bearing down on the Houston area, I will be packing up and heading north very soon. The station has been switched over to what Live365 calls basic mode. For listeners this switch means a looping playlist stored on Live365's servers, more ads, and no automatic requests. The dial-up stream will be down completely.

Hopefully, the station will be back to normal operation by the end of next week.

Thanks for listening,

Zack

September Update

Sorry I'm Late. The update is a couple of days late this month. The start of school and a cold have combined to slow me down. I'm also behind on adding new music. Stay tuned for new tracks from The Grand Tour, New Faces of 1952, the concept recording of Jekyll and Hyde, and the revival cast recording of Sweet Charity.

Bayou City Concert Musicals. If you're in the Houston area, don't miss the BCCM production of Assassins playing at The Hobby Center September 8-10. BCCM is a special fundraising effort for The Center for Aids, and I am a very proud that Maximum Broadway Radio is supporting it for a second year.

Album of the Month. In honor of BCCM's production I've selected the revival recording of Assassins as the Album of the Month. This wonderful recording from PS Classics preserves the 2004 Roundabout Theatre production that won multiple Tony Awards including Best Revival.

Katrina. Like many people, I have been deeply saddened this week by the destruction and despair along the Gulf Coast. I am a native of Louisiana and spent 3 great years in New Orleans during college. New Orleans is a one-of-a-kind city that is truly a national treasure. If you have not already done so, please consider donating to the Red Cross or another similar charity.

As always thanks for listening and making Maximum Broadway Radio Live365's #1 station for show tunes.
