Rough seas are behind us. As many of you know, July was a difficult month for many Live365 stations including Maximum Broadway Radio. Live365 suffered 2 major technical problems that affected the service for over 2 weeks. In addition, the Maximum Broadway Radio studio (i.e. my bedroom) was hit by both DSL and power outages. It appears that these problems have all been resolved, and we can look forward to smooth sailing, at least by internet standards. As I said in a post below, it makes me so happy to see listeners come back and continue to listen despite all these technical problems.
New music. Recently added recordings include the 2002 revival of
Into the Woods, listener-requested
Golden Boy, and Philip Chaffin’s new solo album,
Warm Spring Night. You can read more about
Warm Spring Night in my post "It's Once Again About the Music" from July 24. I have also just added the demo recording of
Plane Crazy which will be running next month as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. For more information, visit the
Plane Crazy Official Web Site. Many of you are already familiar with Plane Crazy's creator, Suzy Conn, through her
Blogway Baby blog.
Album of the Month. The Album of the Month for August is
A Class Act. This has been one of my favorite recordings from the first day I heard it, but I was prompted to feature it this month by the wonderful production of the show I recently saw at
TheatreLab in Houston. A Class Act tells the story of Ed Kleban using his own songs. Kleban is best known for writing the lyrics for A Chorus Line, but he was actually a highly talented record producer and composer as well as being a great lyricist.
As always thanks for listening and for making Maximum Broadway Radio Live365’s number one station for show tunes.
