About MBR

I started Maximum Broadway Radio in late November of 2002. My motivation was simple - I couldn't find a station on the web playing the mix of show tunes I wanted to hear. When I saw how easy it is to start a station on Live365.com, I jumped at the chance. In the early days, the playlist featured a little over 3 hours of music, and it was only updated monthly. That was OK because I was just about the only listener. With time the playlist grew and others started to notice the station and listen as well.

Since mid-2003, Maximum Broadway Radio has grown by leaps and bounds. With several hundred listeners daily, it ranks as Live365's number one show tunes station and among the top 300 stations overall. The station has also grown in quality with the expansion of the CD library to over 200 albums and the addition of this web site.

Recently, I have expanded the mission of Maximum Broadway Radio. I hope to not simply give people show tunes on their computers, but also to support the growth and expansion of musical theatre. Too many people are unaware of the sheer joy and magic available in musicals. Along these lines I created the See a Show section of the web site to help people find musicals in their cities.
